Sudden fine on Barcelona because of Griezmann deal!
Barcelona have been punished by Spanish league club La Liga for the signing of Frenchman Antoine Griezmann with a fine of up to 300 euros, the AS newspaper reported on Thursday.
The newspaper pointed out that the Committee rejected the judge's request to close the Camp Nou stadium as punishment for Barcelona in one game and only imposed a penalty on the Catalan club.
The Committee grants Atletico Madrid the right to appeal against the decision within ten days from the date of the sentence.
Griezmann has signed from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window to pay the penalty clause in his previous contract with the club, which amounted to 120 million euros.
Atletico Madrid have made a formal complaint against Barcelona at the Spanish FA over negotiating with Griezmann under a contract, as well as demanding an additional 80 million euros and 120 million euros.
Atleti claimed that the agreement to bring the player was done at a time when the contract was broken at 200 million euros before falling to 120 million euros in early July.
