Tornado Strikes Monroe, Louisiana; Some House Reportedly Damaged; Blocked Interstate 20 near Arcadia

A twister has broken the airport and a few houses in Monroe, Louisiana, as a good sized outbreak of a storm developing within the South.


The National Weather Service declared a nation of emergency tornado to Monroe in Ouachita Parish at 11:forty four CEST. Doppler radar confirmed huge and destructive tornado hit the town.

At least 20 houses have been damaged in Sunflower Subdivision Monroe, in step with neighborhood media reports to the National Weather Service.

A video on Facebook showed vast damage within the division. As the circle of relatives walked out of the residence destroyed, subsequent video suggests the residence has been ripped away and a dwelling room and eating room are uncovered to rain.


City of Monroe Twitter account saying, "We were given the wind (or twister) harm at several places in Monroe."

The metropolis also published a picture of the damage.

Pictures on social media showed numerous buildings damaged aircraft and sell off at Monroe Regional Airport.
