Barcelona escape the defeat trap against Borussia Dortmund

Barcelona escaped the trap of a loss to hosts Borussia Dortmund in a goalless draw in a meeting between them on Tuesday evening at the Signal Idona Park stadium for the matches of the first round of the group stage in the Champions League

Barcelona lost the services of his left-back, Jordi Alba, in the first half hour of the game and left the field for team mate Sergei Roberto.

The hosts tried to surprise Barcelona with a goal in the first period, but the remarkable brilliance of German Andre Ter Stegen prevented the arrival of Dortmund to his goal to end the first half on the draw 0-0.

After the break Dortmund continued their quest to score the first goal, and penetrated Gadon Sancho inside the penalty area and managed to get a penalty after a mistake on Nelson Semedo.

Marco Royce converted a penalty in the 57th minute but failed to score after Ter Stegen had the ball.

Two minutes later, Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde pulled out his young player Anso Fati, who became the youngest player in the club's history to take part in the Champions League, and pushed Argentine star Lionel Messi in his first appearance in an official game with Barca this season.

Messi did not succeed in helping Barcelona reach the goal of Dortmund to end the game on the negative draw and the two teams share points

In the same group, Inter Milan drew 1-1 with Czech Republic Slavia Prague in the Italian territory earlier today
